MP3 Roundup: Kites With Lights - "Cosmonauts"

Kites with Lights (and I love that name) is an indie electro / synth pop project run by Jonah Cordy. His newest album, Cosmonauts, was released in August, and the eponymous song is a free download on Bandcamp. It's really something special. Take a listen:

The album is also very good, with cool backing vocals, synthesizer beeps and bloops in all the right places, and great use of sound clips. It has an incredible atmospheric feel, and the last three songs--"The Lonely Night," "Next Time" are "Balanced on Air"--are especially good, and left me wanting more. "Cosmonauts" is probably the most fun song, but there's no shortage of quality on the rest of the album.

Cosmonauts is available from Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon.

Giraffage - Pretty Things EP

I previously wrote about Robot Science earlier this year, and as I recall people really enjoyed the music. It's an electronic project by Charlie Yin, of San Francisco. He also has a side project called Giraffage, and his new EP, Pretty Things, is out and available for streaming or purchase on the Giraffage Bandcamp page.

You can also hear some remixes at and other songs on Soundcloud. Here's the EP:

Odonis Odonis - Hollandaze

Odonis Odonis is a band led by by Dean Tzenos, a Toronto-based musician. They play lo-fi punk with lots of reverb. Their new album Hollandaze, recorded mostly in Tzenos's home, drops on November 15th in the US.

To listen to their song "Ledged Up" from Hollandaze, click here. It's in intense rock song with great hooks and guitar work.

And enjoy this flashy music video of "Mr. Smith," a song they released with Lotus Plaza on Palmist Records last July:

New album from September 29th - Koalition

September 29th's new album is out!

It's experimental folk indie, and quite a different sound than most of what's out there. Olgostin uses a variety of instruments to accompany her unique, soulful vocals. I especially like the second track, "I Used To Be Quite Good At This."

Check it out on Bandcamp or on the September 29th Facebook page.
